Changing lives through sport
Decathlon Foundation
The Decathlon Foundation was created in 2005 with one objective: to make the benefits of sport accessible to people in vulnerable situations. In all the projects we support, our teammates get involved locally and sustainably alongside associations, to share their passion for sport. As Decathlon teammates, we have a responsibility to act in solidarity and to promote sport really for all.
Move people in vulnerability through the wonders of sport
We truly believe that sport can change lives.
When combined with education and social support, it can have a transformative impact on people living in difficult circumstances.
In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our three key focus areas for the coming years are centered on the inclusion of young people, the empowerment of girls and women, and the health of individuals in vulnerable situations.*
*While these are our primary areas of emphasis, we remain committed to supporting a wide range of beneficiaries, ensuring that our initiatives stay inclusive and adaptable to the diverse needs of all.
Youth from vulnerable areas
Act for the inclusion of children and young people living in vulnerable areas:
Sport is a powerful lever of social integration for young people. Through field projects, we support children and young people in vulnerable situations so that they can participate regularly in physical activities, helping them to develop essential life skills, gain confidence and improve their well-being, while promoting social cohesion and inclusion.
Girls and women in fragility
Act for the empowerment of girls and women in fragility :
Sport is well-known for its emancipatory power. Through our field projects, we support women who are confronted with issues of violence, poverty and sexism, so that they can take part in regular physical activities. The aim: to develop their leadership skills, gain confidence and defend their rights. By creating a favorable environment, this initiative aims to improve their social and economic status and promote gender equality.
People facing health issues
Act for the health of people suffering from physical, mental, psychological illnesses or disabilities:
Sport and physical activity are crucial to improve health and well-being. In our projects, we support people suffering from illnesses and/or disabilities by creating inclusive environments that encourage their participation, helping to strengthen their social ties and empower them.
