We're going to drive on the North
On va rouler sur le Nord (We're going to ride on the North) is a great opportunity to meet 4 Decathlon bike enthusiasts and young people from Roubaix's neighborhoods supported by Sport dans la Ville (Sport in the City).
"We set off on a bike itinerary for over 100km with young people who didn't know how to ride a bike a few months ago, a superb experience for them as well as for us, and it's only the beginning!"

The On va rouler sur le Nord project
For 3 years now, the "On va rouler sur le nord" project, led by Sport dans la villeemployees of Decathlon and Norauto Francehave been making cycling accessible to around fifty young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods, giving them a taste for adventure and freedom, and inspiring them to take up cycling as a career.
In 2023, a group of young people cycled for 3 days to Blankenberg in Belgium!
The Sport Dans La Ville association
The association Sport dans la Ville is an organization that works to provide educational, social and physical support to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, using sport as a development tool. The association is a positive example of how sport can be used to strengthen communities and foster personal development.
Since its creation in 2005, the Decathlon Foundation has supported the Sport dans la Ville association through a number of sustainable sports and community projects.

The On va Rouler sur le Nord project is also about "opening up new horizons and creating professional vocations " for Nicolas Catteau, project leader and Relais HSE Sport Trail.
For Maxime Fleury, project leader and social impact manager for the Olympic 2024 partnership, himself born in Roubaix, "It's a real way of living out Decathlon's fundamental values on my own playing field".
In just a few weeks, we built this project around access to bikes and learning how to use them for young people in neighborhoods: bike lessons, rides, repair workshops, etc. Every summer, we take 15 young people on a 4-day cycling camp. For me, cycling is about giving people greater autonomy and freedom, and enabling them to discover and experience adventure just a few kilometers from home. Marie Turpin
The project continues throughout the year with bike activities. These include a thrill ride on the track at the Roubaix velodrome!
